Management of water demand in the Caribbean region: current practices and future needs

This paper assesses the availability, requirements and utilisation of water resources in the Caribbean region. It examines the water scarcity trends in the region and identifies Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas and Barbados as countries with the greatest water scarcity in the region. The role of water demand management as a means of optimising the use of water in the Caribbean region is emphasised. It examines the water demand management measures already in place and makes recommendations for the way forward.
